In the wake of the tragic rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College, Lalbazar has initiated a program to train the private security guards stationed at government hospitals in Kolkata. This step is being taken to enhance the preparedness and vigilance of security personnel in safeguarding hospital premises.
A comprehensive list of private security guards from all government hospitals in the city has been compiled. These guards will be divided into groups and undergo a three-day training session conducted by Kolkata Police. The sessions will cover security protocols, emergency response, and other essential skills to prevent future incidents.
A special training module is currently being prepared under the supervision of Kolkata Police Additional Commissioner of Police-5 Ashesh Biswas, Joint Commissioner (Training) Mehmood Akhtar, and Joint Commissioner (Organisation) Ajay Prasad. This initiative is part of a broader effort to bolster security measures and ensure the safety of both medical professionals and patients at these hospitals.
By providing this training, Lalbazar hopes to equip private guards with the necessary tools and awareness to handle potentially dangerous situations, reinforcing the safety and security infrastructure within Kolkata's medical institutions.
