Man dies of electrocution in Kolkata amidst heavy waterlogging

In a tragic incident, a young man in Kolkata lost his life to electrocution amidst heavy waterlogging following Cyclone Dana. The victim, identified as Sourav Prasad Gupta, aged 25, was electrocuted on Justice Dwaraka Nath Road near his residence at approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Sourav, son of Ganesh Prasad Gupta, lived at 2/C Justice Dwaraka Nath Road, Kolkata-700020. Reports indicate he encountered a live wire or an electric current in the waterlogged area in front of 2/3 Justice Dwaraka Nath Road, where substantial flooding had accumulated due to post-cyclone rains.

Witnesses at the scene responded quickly, calling for emergency assistance. Sourav was rushed to Sambhunath Pandit Hospital (SNP), where doctors examined him and, unfortunately, declared him brought dead upon arrival.
