Six individuals were arrested by the English Bazar police in Malda for attempting to enter two examination centers with mobile phones during the ongoing West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) Clerkship exam. The exam, taking place over two days, has a strict no-phone policy, and the police acted swiftly to prevent any potential malpractices.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Debashish Pramanik, Vishal Mandal, Samriddh Das, Abdul Tohsin Hussain, Setabar Sheikh, and Mohammad Amirul. They are residents of various areas within Malda district, including Manikchak, Habibpur, English Bazar, and Mothabari. The arrests took place at Zahurtala High School and Vibhuti Bhushan High School, where the candidates were attempting to carry mobile phones into the exam centers. The mobile phones were discovered during routine checks before the exams started.
The police have confirmed that the arrested individuals were taken into custody for violating the examination rules. The exam centers were secured, and additional measures were implemented to prevent further disruptions. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the smooth conduct of the remaining exams.
