Medical reports confirm rape of Kolkata Law college student; Assault & bite marks found
On the night of December 14, a heated dispute over a vegetable business at Aga Mehdi Street under Taltala Police Station jurisdiction in Kolkata escalated into violence. The altercation involved three accused individuals—Manowar, Afridi, and Saif—who allegedly attacked 27-year-old Safi Ahmed with a knife.
The victim, Safi Ahmed, a resident of Sarif Lane, sustained a stab wound to his left abdomen during the assault. He was immediately rushed to NRS Medical College and Hospital, where he underwent surgery. As per medical reports, his condition is now stable.
Taltala Police swiftly registered a case (No. 149 dated 15/12/24) under sections 109/54 BNS against the accused. During the investigation, one of the accused, 50-year-old Md. Manowar, was arrested.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the other two suspects, Afridi and Saif, who remain at large. Police have assured the public that a strict vigil is being maintained in the area to prevent any further untoward incidents.
