A young woman in Krishnanagar, Nadia district, West Bengal, was allegedly gang-raped on December 7 by a man and his friends after she rejected the man’s repeated love proposals. According to the complaint, the woman was abducted while returning home from the gym and taken to an isolated house, where the assault occurred. The accused fled the scene after the incident.
The victim reported that one of the accused had been harassing her for years with repeated proposals, which she had refused. Following the assault, the accused allegedly issued threats to the victim and her family. On December 19, the woman lodged a complaint at the Krishnanagar police station, detailing the events.
Police have registered an FIR and initiated an investigation. The victim’s medical examination has been conducted, and her statement has been recorded. Authorities are analyzing CCTV footage from the vicinity of the crime scene and examining the victim’s call records to gather further evidence.
