The body of 22-year-old engineering student Dipti Bhagat was recovered on Sunday afternoon from the Shankarpur Feeder Canal near Farakka, West Bengal, after she had been missing for over seven days. Dipti, originally from Harishchandrapur, Malda, was last seen a week ago, and her sudden disappearance had led her family to conduct extensive searches in the area, but with no success. Despite various efforts to trace her, her body was found by the canal, leading to further investigations.

Dipti was pursuing her engineering studies and had been traveling to Dumka, Jharkhand, when she went missing. According to family members, she had last been in touch with them several days before her disappearance.
