New Jalpaiguri Police (NJP) arrested three Bangladeshi nationals on Thursday evening for illegally entering India. The individuals, identified as Mohammed Habib, Mohammed Shamsher Ali, and Atirul Mohammed, were detained in the Fulbari area following a tip-off about their unlawful infiltration. The trio was apprehended as they entered the region, and further investigations are underway to determine their intentions.
During the search, NJP authorities recovered a range of items from the suspects. These included a hydraulic wire cutter, a plane cutter, a razor, a hand saw, and a mobile phone with a Bangladeshi SIM card. Additionally, 110 Bangladeshi rupees were found in their possession. The police are examining these items to determine if they are linked to criminal activities or if they were intended for use in illegal operations.
The three men were produced before the Jalpaiguri Court on Friday, where they were charged with illegal entry into India. Law enforcement sources have indicated that one of the arrested individuals has connections to Assam. Authorities are investigating potential links to criminal networks operating along the India-Bangladesh border. The NJP police have assured that they will continue their efforts to uncover further details as the investigation progresses.
