Brake failure causes multi-vehicle crash on Vidyasagar Setu; Several injured

A major accident occurred on Vidyasagar Setu when a private bus lost control due to brake failure, crashing into multiple vehicles and leaving several injured. The incident took place on Monday morning, causing severe traffic congestion on the bridge.

According to eyewitnesses, the Dhulagarh-Newton route bus first rammed into a private car before colliding with a small goods vehicle from behind. The impact was so severe that the goods vehicle overturned on the bridge, leading to chaos and panic among commuters. Several passengers from both the bus and the private car sustained serious injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals.

Traffic movement on Vidyasagar Setu was severely affected as emergency services, including police and ambulances, arrived to manage the situation. Efforts were made to clear the wreckage and restore normalcy as quickly as possible. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the brake failure and whether the bus had undergone proper maintenance checks.
