The West Bengal Government has announced February 13 (Thursday) and February 14 (Friday) as public holidays for all state government offices, educational institutions, and related organizations. As per the latest information, Shab-e-Barat will now be observed on February 13, prompting the government to shift the holiday accordingly.
This leads to people enjoying the upcoming long weekend.
The notification clarifies that February 14 had already been designated as a holiday to commemorate the birth anniversary of Thakur Panchanan Barma, a social reformer of the Rajbanshi community.The notification applies to all state employees and public sector workers under the West Bengal government’s jurisdiction.
The notification directs all concerned departments and administrative bodies to implement the revised schedule accordingly. Citizens and government employees are advised to note the changes in the holiday calendar.
