Suvendu Adhikari blames Bangladesh Govt for BSF attacks, says 80% want Sheikh Hasina back | Watch

Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has accused the Bangladesh government of orchestrating planned attacks on Border Security Force (BSF) personnel along the India-Bangladesh border. Speaking at a party event in Mahishadal, he alleged that Indian soldiers were being deliberately targeted and blamed Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus’ administration for the rising tensions. He referred to the current government as a “Mullah regime” and claimed that its policies were creating instability in the region.

Adhikari further stated that Mohammad Yunus has lost public support due to tax hikes and unpopular laws, leading to growing dissatisfaction among Bangladeshi citizens. "Only 20% of separatist elements support Yunus, while 80% of the population wants development and the return of Sheikh Hasina to power," he said. He highlighted that the discontent among citizens had intensified following economic decisions that affected livelihoods and businesses, causing large-scale frustration across the country.

Raising concerns over security, Adhikari demanded a strong response from India, stating that the attacks on BSF personnel were part of a larger, organized strategy. He urged the Indian government to take necessary diplomatic and strategic measures to protect border security. His remarks come at a time when border tensions between India and Bangladesh have seen an uptick, with multiple reports of cross-border incidents in recent weeks.
