Medical reports confirm rape of Kolkata Law college student; Assault & bite marks found
A severe road accident occurred today afternoon near a bus stop in Lalbagh, Murshidabad, when a Tata four-wheeler collided with a stationary auto. The auto, which was parked at the bus stop with passengers onboard, was hit by the vehicle coming from the opposite direction. The force of the impact caused the auto to overturn onto its right side. Eyewitnesses described the collision as sudden and violent, with the sound of the crash echoing across the area.
The accident resulted in six people sustaining injuries, including the auto driver and passengers. Three of the injured, including the driver, Varun Nandi, and passengers Shyamoli and Soleman Sheikh, were transferred to Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital in critical condition. The other victims, with minor injuries, received first aid at the Lalbagh Sub-District Hospital and were later discharged after treatment.
Local residents, along with police personnel from Murshidabad police station, immediately launched rescue operations at the scene. The injured were swiftly taken to nearby hospitals for medical care. The accident has raised concerns about road safety in the area, with local authorities beginning an investigation to determine the cause of the crash and ensure better safety measures for commuters.
