TMC MP slams RSS-BJP over 'jumlas', predicts CM Mamata as India Alliance President

TMC MP Kirti Azad has criticized the RSS and BJP, alleging that the two organizations only provide "jumlas" (empty promises) and mislead the public. Azad, while addressing a gathering in Durgapur, stated that the RSS and BJP have failed to deliver tangible results for the nation, and their focus lies primarily on distracting people with promises rather than actions. He underscored that misleading the masses and using religious narratives, like promoting "Sanatan Dharma," are key strategies employed by these parties.

Azad also highlighted the historical role of the RSS, stating that the organization had aligned with the British during the colonial period. He further accused them of playing a significant role in India's partition. This assertion about the RSS's role in the partition of India echoes a long-standing critique that the organization was complicit in the divisions that led to the creation of Pakistan.

The TMC leader expressed strong confidence in Mamata Banerjee's leadership and her potential to lead the India Alliance. Azad emphasized that any opposition candidate coming to contest against Banerjee in West Bengal is likely to face defeat, a sentiment he reinforced with the belief that Banerjee would soon become the President of the India Alliance. He stated, "Mamata Banerjee will lead the opposition alliance and the country."

This statement from Azad came amidst RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remarks in West Bengal, where he underscored the importance of uniting the Hindu society. Bhagwat remarked that the RSS's goal was to unite Hindus because they are responsible for the country's societal framework. He further commented that those who disagreed with India's national character, as defined by Hindu culture, were the ones who formed Pakistan.

Bhagwat’s comments also sparked a broader political conversation about India’s identity. Speaking about the partition, Bhagwat pointed out that the creation of Pakistan was the result of those who could not reconcile with India's "nature" and thus chose to form a separate country. His remarks on Hindu unity and the importance of religious solidarity have become a focal point in the ongoing political discourse.
