A dog was found tightly stuffed inside a jute sack and abandoned on a Kolkata Suburban Railway train at Barasat Junction. The incident came to light when a commuter onboard noticed slight movement in the sack and alerted railway police. Upon opening the sack in the presence of officials, they found the animal struggling inside, unable to free itself.
A video captured at Barasat Junction showed officials entering the coach and assisting in the rescue. The dog, which appeared distressed, was released immediately. The identity of the person responsible for abandoning the animal remains unknown. Social media users have raised concerns over the incident, calling for strict action against the culprit. Some suspect the dog was a mother, and her puppies may have been harmed before she was packed inside the sack.
Outrage over the act of cruelty has led netizens to demand intervention from authorities, with users tagging PETA India and urging an investigation. One user commented, "It’s a mother dog. Must have k!lled her pups. This should be investigated." Another wrote, "Can’t believe...Such people deserve shock treatment. God bless that person who helped the dog out of the sack."
