After being released on bail in the ration corruption case, the police security of former state minister Jyotipriya Mallick is once again being increased. According to sources from Nabanna, he may be provided with 'Z' category security by the state police. He could receive this security within a day or two. Jyotipriya Mallick had to spend a long time in jail due to the ration corruption case.
He also fell ill several times. However, after being released from jail at the beginning of the new year, his health is currently stable. He has visited the Assembly multiple times and has met with his associates. Recently, he toured various places in his constituency, Habra, in North 24 Parganas.
With the Assembly elections scheduled for next year, the matter of strengthening Jyotipriya’s security has emerged. Some experts believe that the former minister may be preparing to return to active politics. A discussion on this issue has taken place in Nabanna with the 'Director of Security'.
Previously, Jyotipriya had received special security as a minister. However, after being released on bail, he was provided security similar to that of an ordinary MLA. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), in its recent supplementary chargesheet related to the ration corruption case, has presented extensive information about three close associates of Jyotipriya.
According to sources, the chargesheet includes the names of Jyotipriya’s chartered accountant, Shantanu Bhattacharya, as well as Hitesh Chandak and Subrata Ghosh. Hitesh and Subrata are owners of a rice mill. Additionally, the investigation report mentions several organizations. In its fifth supplementary chargesheet, the central investigative agency has claimed that funds were transferred across various accounts through multiple companies.
