Painter arrested for molesting 9-year-old girl at home in New Town

A painter was arrested for molesting a minor in Newtown. He was arrested by Ecopark Police Station. The nine-year-old minor is a resident of Ghuni Tiyabagan Pada of Jangra Gram Panchayat of Newtown. Based on the complaint of the minor's family, the police of Ecopark police station of Bidhannagar Commissionerate have arrested the house painter accused in the molestation case.

The arrested person has been identified as Kausar Ali alias Bapu (32). The youth is a painter by profession. He is a resident of Jatragachhi-Ghuni area of ​​Ecopark police station area. The police arrested the accused Bapu from the same area on Wednesday afternoon. According to police and local sources, the father had been painting the victim's house in Tiya Bagan for several days. He had gone to work on Wednesday morning as well.

He was doing painting work in the downstairs room. At that time most of the minor's family members had gone out. Then finding a deserted place, the father lured the minor girl and took her to the fourth floor of the house. Allegedly, the minor was molested by the house painter there. When the family returned home in the afternoon, the minor started crying. After this, the family lodged a complaint of sexual harassment against the accused house painter at Ecopark police station. Based on the complaint, the accused was arrested. The accused was produced in Barasat Court today i.e. Thursday.
