Ram Navami Rally on GT Road route gets Calcutta HC nod, imposes strict conditions
The severed body parts of a five-year-old girl were found in fields near a police station in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. The child went missing on the evening of February 25, and a day later, her severed leg was discovered in a field. Initially, police suspected a wild animal attack, but the victim’s family insisted on an investigation, leading authorities to launch a probe.
On February 27, drone surveillance helped locate additional body parts in nearby fields, including another severed leg and the upper torso from chest to head. Forensic teams collected samples, and a post-mortem confirmed that the girl was strangled to death before being dismembered. "Multiple suspects are being interrogated, and three have been arrested. Surveillance teams have been deployed to assist with the investigation," said a police official.
Local BJP MLA Gyan Tiwari and State Women Commission member Priyanka Maurya visited the victim’s family and assured them of strict action against those responsible. The police are continuing their investigation, with forensic experts analyzing evidence to establish further details regarding the crime and those involved.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated case last month, a mutilated body of an unidentified woman was found in a field in the Una district of Himachal Pradesh. Police suspect she was murdered elsewhere before her body was dumped. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have shared information with neighboring states to help identify the victim and trace the culprits.
Officials in both cases are coordinating forensic efforts to analyze patterns and ensure swift action. Law enforcement has urged the public to report any suspicious activity and provide information that may aid ongoing investigations.
