A woman was allegedly attacked with a hammer by her husband’s lover at Calcutta Medical College following a confrontation over an extramarital affair. The victim, Priyanka Vaidya, claimed that her husband, medical representative Saurabh Vaidya, was in a relationship with another woman. She stated that she had caught them together the previous day and had gathered proof. When she approached them at the hospital to discuss the matter, the accused refused to engage, and an altercation ensued.
According to Priyanka, she attempted to call the woman outside for a conversation, but was verbally abused before being attacked with a hammer. She sustained injuries and was treated at the hospital’s ENT department. "This woman has ruined my life. She is a mother herself and should have understood the consequences of her actions," Priyanka said.
She also alleged that her husband, after seven years of marriage, no longer communicates with her. Authorities are looking into the incident, but no official statements have been released from the accused or her husband.
