West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education President Dr. Chiranjib Bhattacharya visited multiple examination centers in Malda during the Higher Secondary English exam. Malda, which has faced scrutiny over question paper leaks in previous years, was under strict surveillance. The district has 32,651 candidates appearing for the exams across 122 centers. Officials implemented increased security measures, including enhanced frisking, restricted mobile phone access, and continuous monitoring to prevent irregularities.
Dr. Bhattacharya stated that the exam process was well-managed and conducted fairly. “The management was very good, and the exams were held smoothly,” he said. The Higher Secondary Education Board expressed satisfaction with the center administration, highlighting that preventive steps were in place. Strict invigilation was carried out, and the authorities ensured all guidelines were followed. No disruptions or malpractice reports surfaced on the first day of the exam.
Malda’s examination centers have historically been under observation due to past allegations of paper leaks and unfair practices. However, board officials indicated that conditions have improved. The council reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining transparency and fairness throughout the examination process. Security personnel and board representatives will continue monitoring exam centers in the coming days to ensure compliance with regulations.
