CM Mamata to personally donate ₹5 lakh 1 rupees to Jagannath Temple, golden broom to be bought
Former MP Adhir Chowdhury has sharply criticized the Trinamool Congress over allegations of involvement in creating fake voter cards in West Bengal. Chowdhury claimed that individuals are being trained in fraudulent practices related to voter lists, calling it an organized effort to manipulate election outcomes. According to Chowdhury, this practice involves the creation of fake voter cards on a large scale, with the number of such entries running into thousands or lakhs across the state. He pointed out that the responsibility for compiling voter lists lies with Booth Level Officers (BLOs), many of whom, he claimed, are affiliated with the Trinamool Congress.
The Congress leader also raised concerns over the role of Trinamool-backed employees in facilitating the creation of these fake voter entries. Chowdhury accused the party of influencing the election process at the grassroots level, arguing that local operatives are manipulating the voter lists, including the online voter registration system. He further emphasized that despite the involvement of the State Election Commission, the issue remains prevalent, with limited action taken to address these concerns.
