Newtown police have arrested a female trafficker from the Pramodgarh area of Gourang Nagar after local residents caught her in suspicious activities. For several days, the woman had been seen riding a motorcycle around the area, which raised concerns among locals. They suspected she was luring women under the pretext of offering them jobs.
On the day of the arrest, the locals managed to apprehend the woman and inspected her mobile phone. The phone contained several pictures of women, which confirmed their suspicions. The woman had been contacting these women using various excuses, further adding to the evidence against her. Following the discovery, the locals tied her to a pole and alerted the police.
The woman was handed over to the Newtown police station, where investigations revealed that she is originally from Bangladesh. She had been living in Newtown's Suranguri area on rent. Authorities are now investigating the full extent of her trafficking activities and whether any others were involved.
