Mamata Banerjee's government has denied reports of a Holi ban in Santiniketan's Sonajhuri Haat area. Birbaha Hansda, the state minister for forests and civil supplies, clarified that there is no restriction on Holi celebrations in Santiniketan. This statement came after Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury criticized the Bengal government, accusing it of adopting Uttar Pradesh’s culture by imposing a ban on the festival. Hansda emphasized that the issue had been blown out of proportion, and the government had no intention of restricting the celebration of Holi.
