The IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), scheduled on April 6, may still take place at Eden Gardens. The decision comes a day after the venue was shifted from the City of Joy to Guwahati. Kolkata police have assured of full security for the match.
Earlier, the match was shifted to Guwahati after Kolkata Police informed the Cricket Association of Bengal that it would be unable to provide security due to Ram Navami celebrations coinciding with the high-profile fixture. The venue change was approved by the BCCI after the Bengal Cricket Board raised the issue with the governing body.
However, the decision was may be reversed and the fans of the Kolkata Knight Riders might now witness their favorite team playing on their home turf. The iconic venue will also host the IPL 2025 opener where KKR will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore and the final as well.
