A housewife suffered severe head injuries after being hit by the Sealdah-Diamond Harbour local train while crossing the tracks near Ganashakti Crossing at Sonarpur on Tuesday around 11 AM. According to local sources, she was talking on her mobile phone and did not hear the approaching train. The impact threw her to the side of the tracks, leaving her bleeding and unconscious.
Eyewitnesses, including daily commuters and locals, immediately rushed to her aid. She was initially taken to Sonarpur Rural Hospital, but as her condition worsened, she was shifted to Baruipur Hospital for advanced treatment. Medical officials confirmed that she sustained severe head injuries. Her identity has not been disclosed.
