ISF MLA Nawsad Siddique questioned why the Bengal government hasn’t approached the Supreme Court under Article 131 to recover pending Central funds. “If the Centre isn’t releasing dues, why doesn’t the state go to court?” he asked, citing the Supreme Court’s ruling on financial disputes. The state has accused the Centre of withholding MGNREGA and PM Awas Yojana funds, while the Centre cites non-compliance. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has protested and written to the Prime Minister, but Siddique alleged the government is only politicizing the issue instead of taking legal action.
