Father murdered in broad daylight for resisting daughter’s harassment in Nagpur

A horrifying case of violence has emerged from Nagpur, where a 53-year-old man was brutally murdered in broad daylight after confronting a group of miscreants for harassing his daughters. The victim, identified as Naresh Walde, a local painter, was lured to a location and attacked with sharp weapons by the accused. The police have arrested three suspects in connection with the crime.

According to sources, Walde’s daughter had been repeatedly harassed by a group of local troublemakers while commuting. The situation escalated when he confronted them a few days ago, resulting in a heated altercation. The accused allegedly threatened to kill him, but despite this warning, the harassment persisted. Naresh, determined to protect his family, reported the incident to the Imamwada police station. However, this did not deter the culprits.

On Wednesday afternoon, Naresh received a phone call from an unknown number, asking him to come to Jat Tarodi. Unaware of the trap set for him, he arrived at the location on his two-wheeler, only to be ambushed by the accused, who were waiting with sharp weapons. They attacked him mercilessly, killing him on the spot before fleeing the scene.

The brutal murder has sent shockwaves through the local community. Residents of the Imamwada area, where Walde lived with his elderly mother and three daughters, have expressed their anger and grief. Reports suggest that unidentified individuals had even pelted stones at his house days before the attack, indicating a premeditated attempt to intimidate the family.

Following the murder, the Imamwada police launched a swift investigation. The City Crime Branch Unit 4 took charge of the case, leading to the arrest of three suspects. Inspector Rahul Shire confirmed that a case has been registered under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023. He assured that efforts are ongoing to identify any other individuals involved in the crime and determine the full motive behind the killing.

The incident has once again raised concerns over the safety of women and their families when confronting harassment. The police have urged citizens to report any such threats immediately and assured that stringent action will be taken against those responsible.
