The body of 28-year-old Puja Singh was found hanging at her residence on Pathakpara Road under Parnasree police station. She had been married just one and a half months ago to Mukesh Singh, an IT professional. Police recovered the body on Saturday night and sent it for post-mortem. According to sources, Puja had video-called her husband before the incident. An unnatural death case has been registered, and investigations are underway.
Officers are questioning family members, neighbors, and close acquaintances to gather details. Investigators are also examining her phone records and social media activity for any possible leads. Police have not confirmed any previous complaints or disputes related to the couple. The autopsy report is expected to provide further clarity on the cause of death.
This incident follows another case in Kolkata’s Charu Market area, where a 22-year-old youth, Avinash Bauri, was found dead in a flat near an SBI branch. He worked as a domestic help for Kushal Chhabra, who owns a shop in Dharmatala. Authorities are treating both cases as separate incidents while continuing their investigations.
