The Students' Federation of India (SFI) has criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for not answering questions posed by the organization during a recent event at Kellogg College in the UK. SFI stated that the questions raised were legitimate, but the Chief Minister chose not to respond. The organization also expressed concerns over the ongoing targeting of its members by the Trinamool Congress’s student wing, TMCP, in various colleges across Bengal.
SFI's state secretary, Debanjan Dey, reported that the organization has seen a 35% increase in membership across colleges in the state. This rise in numbers reflects growing support for SFI, despite the attempts by TMCP to weaken the organization. The increase is seen as a result of SFI's focus on student issues and their continued outreach to the student community across Bengal.
