Sun puts 'Tilak' on Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on Ram Navami | Watch

On the occasion of Ram Navami, a focused beam of sunlight illuminated the forehead of the Ram Lalla idol at exactly 12 noon in Ayodhya's Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, creating the ‘Surya Tilak’ — a celestial phenomenon marking the symbolic birth of Lord Ram. The light beam was directed through a scientifically designed system of mirrors and lenses installed inside the sanctum to ensure precise alignment with the idol’s forehead at midday.

The event drew thousands of devotees from across the country, who began their day with a holy dip in the Saryu River before visiting the temple. Special rituals, including Abhishek, Shringar, Aarti, and the offering of Chappan Bhog, were performed at the Ram Temple to mark the celebration. The temple complex was adorned with vibrant flowers and decorative lights for the festival.

Security arrangements were heightened across Ayodhya due to the large influx of pilgrims. “A large number of devotees are arriving on the occasion of Ram Navami. We have divided the areas into different zones. Drones are being used for crowd management and security purposes,” said Rajkaran Nayyar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ayodhya. The city was divided into zones to streamline movement and ensure safety.

According to a report, more than two lakh diyas were planned to be lit in the city by the Uttar Pradesh government as part of the celebrations. Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal confirmed that all necessary preparations had been completed for Ram Navami, including arrangements for the Surya Tilak. Ram Navami is observed annually on the Navami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the Chaitra month to commemorate the birth of Lord Ram.
