"No politics over Waqf in Bengal, everyone will be protected," says Mamata Banerjee
Srirampur MP Kalyan Banerjee visited seven temples in Champdani on Sunday to offer prayers on the occasion of Ram Navami. He was accompanied by Champdani Municipality Chairman Suresh Mishra, Champdani MLA Arindam Guin, several councillors, and others. Worship rituals began early in the morning across the temples, as locals celebrated Ram Navami with enthusiasm. The MP’s temple visits spanned different parts of the area, with large gatherings marking the religious occasion.
After completing his visits, Kalyan Banerjee stated that he and others have been observing Ram Navami every year and continued the practice this year as well. Referring to the BJP, he said, “The BJP was born in Bengal just a few years ago.” Commenting on the use of religious scriptures in Ram Navami rallies, Banerjee said, “Those who are doing such things are doing wrong.” He further alleged that the BJP does not follow rules or laws and claimed, “All the goons are in BJP and they do divisive politics.”
Targeting Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, Banerjee questioned his claim of mobilising one crore people on Ram Navami. “Where is that BJP goon who said he would bring one crore people on the streets?” he asked. Referring to Adhikari as “Nandigram’s goon,” Banerjee added, “If you act like a goon, you will get beaten.” His remarks came amid Ram Navami celebrations, where multiple political leaders participated in public events and religious gatherings across West Bengal.
