A 27-year-old man, Rocky Rajbanshi alias Bholu, was attacked with a butcher knife near a public toilet on the Gariahat footpath around 2 AM on Monday. According to the Officer-in-Charge of Gariahat Police Station, the accused—Nayan Samaddar alias Bhola, Pinku alias Rohit Prasad, and Jishu alias Sonu Haldar—allegedly assaulted Rocky and his friends while they were on the footpath near the toilet.
Police said the accused acted together during the attack. Rocky sustained cut injuries and bleeding on his left arm and left side of his abdomen. His friends suffered minor physical injuries. Following the assault, Rocky was admitted to a hospital for treatment. The exact cause behind the incident was not stated in the official briefing.
A specific case has been registered at Gariahat Police Station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). “Raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding accused,” the Gariahat OC said. Investigation is currently underway.
