A protest was held on Monday in front of A.P.C. Bhavan in Salt Lake by 9,533 panel-listed candidates from the 2022 primary teacher recruitment process. The demonstrators demanded immediate appointment letters for the remaining 301 vacancies under the sanctioned 9,533 posts. All protestors are qualified D.El.Ed. candidates from the 2014 and 2017 batches who had cleared the recruitment process and were included in the final panel prepared by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education.
The candidates stated that while a majority of panelists have received their appointment letters, 301 posts remain vacant despite being part of the declared recruitment count. They demanded that these remaining positions be filled without delay. The protestors claimed repeated appeals had not received any response, which led them to organize the demonstration outside the education board's administrative office.
