Kasba rape case: BJP procession stopped in Gariahat before it starts; Sukanta Majumdar arrested
On Friday morning, BJP leader Dilip Ghosh held a “Chai Pe Charcha” session at Bulbuli Mor in Old Malda, marking another public outreach initiative by the party. He began the day by garlanding the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, paying tribute to the freedom fighter before engaging with locals over a cup of tea.
The event, organized to connect with the grassroots, saw participation from key BJP figures, including North Malda MP Khagen Murmu, MLA Gopal Saha, and several other party leaders and workers. Residents of the area gathered early in the morning to join the discussion.
Addressing the recent communal tensions in Mothabari, Dilip Ghosh made a strong statement aimed at the Sanatani Hindu community. “Just as people came together on Ram Navami, it is time to unite again — to protect Sanatan Dharma and take to the streets,” he said. He called for massive public protests, asserting that the current state government must be overthrown and driven into the Ganga and Mahananda rivers.
Shifting his focus to the ongoing teacher recruitment scam, Ghosh claimed that there is a list of 18,000 job openings for teachers. He urged eligible candidates to approach the Supreme Court to claim their rightful positions.
He also appealed to 8,000 affected candidates to stage demonstrations outside Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s residence and at the homes of Trinamool Congress leaders, alleging that jobs were sold for money. “The money taken from ineligible candidates must be returned,” he demanded.
