Twelve names were submitted from the platform of unemployed teachers to attend a scheduled meeting at Bikash Bhavan. However, initially only eight were granted permission to enter. The protestors refused to attend the meeting unless all 12 were allowed inside. Following their objection, authorities at Bikash Bhavan permitted entry to all 12 individuals. Later, another teacher was also seen entering the venue.
The meeting took place in the fifth-floor conference room of Bikash Bhavan. Present in the meeting were Education Minister Bratya Basu, SSC Chairman Siddhartha Majumdar, the President of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, and officials from the State Law Department. Discussions were held with the group of unemployed teachers regarding their demands.
The protesting group included candidates who claimed to have lost jobs through the School Service Commission’s recruitment process. They had arrived at Bikash Bhavan for a formal dialogue. No further details of the meeting proceedings have been released so far.
