Fourth arrest in Jafrabad murder case as police nab key accused Ziaul Sheikh

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested the main conspirator in the brutal murder of a father and son in Jafrabad. Late Saturday night, police captured Ziaul Sheikh from the Chopra area of North Dinajpur district, marking a significant breakthrough in the case.

Ziaul Sheikh, a resident of Sulitala area under Shamsherganj police station limits, had been absconding ever since the horrific incident. According to officials, he had been constantly changing locations and concealing his identity to evade arrest.

The arrest came after the interrogation of three other accused who were previously taken into custody. Their statements reportedly led investigators to Ziaul's whereabouts, resulting in a well-coordinated operation by the SIT to track him down.

Authorities revealed that Ziaul had a direct role in planning the deadly attack. His capture brings the total number of arrests in the case to four, as police continue to hunt for others involved in the incident.

The murder, which had sparked outrage across the region, was carried out by a fundamentalist mob, leaving the community shaken and prompting swift action from law enforcement.

Police said that further interrogations of Ziaul Sheikh are underway to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy and identify all those responsible for orchestrating the violence.
