A minor accident was reported at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport on Friday afternoon when a tempo traveller collided with a stationary IndiGo aircraft. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries in the incident.
According to officials, the tempo traveller was operated by a third-party ground handling agency and hit the undercarriage of the aircraft while dropping off airport staff. The incident occurred around 12:15 PM at the Alpha Parking Bay 71, where the aircraft had been grounded for engine repairs.
IndiGo, in an official statement, clarified that the aircraft was non-operational at the time of the collision. The airline attributed the mishap to driver negligence and assured that all safety protocols were immediately followed in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
