Illegal Bangladeshi couple caught at Howrah station

Two Bangladeshi nationals were arrested by the Golabari Police on Monday afternoon at Subway No. 7 near the entrance of Howrah Railway Station. The arrested individuals, Mohammad Abdullah Ali alias Abdul (35) and Farida Begum (45), were unable to provide valid documents when asked by officials.

According to police sources, the couple admitted to entering Indian territory illegally from Bangladesh without valid passports or other travel documents. Authorities confirmed that both individuals were from Bangladesh and had crossed the border without proper authorization.

A case has been registered under Golabari Police Station, Case No. 140/25, dated April 21, 2025, under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act. The couple was presented in court following their arrest. Police officials have increased vigilance at key railway stations and border points to prevent further incidents.
