Jobless candidates who were protesting in front of the School Service Commission (SSC) building in Kolkata have withdrawn their sit-in and will return to classrooms from Monday until April 29. The decision follows partial fulfillment of their demands. These protestors, many of whom were declared eligible through court orders but did not find their names in the final appointment list, have announced that they will resume teaching duties before the summer break.
Their protest will now continue at the Shahid Minar in the form of a symbolic demonstration. Protestors have stated that if their remaining demands are not addressed by April 26, they will march to Bikash Bhavan. They are demanding the appointment of eligible candidates whose names were left out of the merit list.
