A fresh cache of live bombs was recovered from Dakshin Sija village under Sainthia police station in Birbhum district on Tuesday. Police found a plastic bucket filled with live bombs, creating fresh concern in the area. This marks the third incident that explosives have been recovered from the same village.
Two days ago, a blast occurred in Dakshin Sija, which led to a portion of a house collapsing. Since then, multiple rounds of bomb recoveries have taken place. Bombs were recovered on Monday as well, following Sunday’s explosion. On Tuesday, police again recovered a bucket of bombs from a separate location within the village. The area was immediately cordoned off and secured.
Officials have informed the bomb disposal squad, which is expected to arrive and defuse the recovered explosives. The police have not confirmed the exact number of bombs or any arrests so far. Investigation into the repeated recoveries is underway. No official statement has been released on the origin or intended use of the bombs.
