A meritorious student from Khardaha, Sagar Chowdhury, was found dead under suspicious circumstances just a day after the announcement of his Secondary exam results. The 16-year-old had recently passed his exams with high marks, making his sudden death even more alarming for the family and the community. His body was discovered early Saturday morning beneath a mango tree near his home.
According to his family, Sagar was in good spirits after receiving his exam results on Friday, spending the day with friends. Later that evening, after having dinner, he went to rest. However, in the late night, Sagar reportedly received a phone call and left his house. The next morning, his parents heard groaning sounds from outside and rushed out to find him unconscious. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
Doctors who examined the body reported that Sagar had multiple broken bones below his waist. His father, Shambhu Chowdhury, stated that his son was happy with his exam performance and there had been no signs of distress prior to the incident. The family has demanded a thorough investigation, seeking clarity on the cause of death. They believe the circumstances surrounding Sagar’s death require careful examination.
The police have initiated an investigation, exploring all possibilities, including any personal conflicts or issues that could have led to this tragic incident. A post-mortem has been conducted, and the authorities are examining various angles to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a student from Alipurduar's Chikligudi High School committed suicide after failing her exams. Her body was found by the police, and a post-mortem has been performed.
