₹2.66 crore robbed from company employees carrying cash in taxi at Entally

  • Two employees from Avinandan Forex were robbed of ₹2.66 crore after boarding a taxi at Phillips Crossing
  • Unknown assailants directed the taxi to Kamardanga, where they stole the cash kept in the dickey
  • Police have initiated an inquiry into the incident and are reviewing leads to identify the robbers

₹2.66 crore robbed from company employees carrying cash in taxi at Entally

At approximately 11:40 hrs today, two employees of Avinandan Forex Pvt Ltd, located at 118 SN Banerjee Road, were traveling in a taxi to deposit ₹2.66 crore at the SBI Park Circus branch. While en route, two unidentified individuals boarded the taxi at Phillips Crossing. The assailants then directed the driver to a secluded lane near Kamardanga.

Once at the location, the robbers seized the cash, which had been kept in the taxi's dickey, and fled the scene with the entire sum. The authorities are currently investigating the incident, and an inquiry into the matter is ongoing.
