Pahalgam victims from Bengal lauds Operation Sindoor

Family members of the three tourists from West Bengal who were killed in the April 22 Pahalgam massacre have expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching Operation Sindoor, which struck terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Sohini Adhikari, whose husband was brutally murdered after being identified as a Hindu, said she relives that trauma every day. “I thank the Prime Minister for paying back Pakistan in its own coin. But this must not stop here. We should never see another Pahalgam again,” she said.

Shobori Guha, widow of another victim Samir Guha, echoed similar emotions. “We went on a holiday and returned with a corpse. I thank the PM for the swift response. This pain should end for others,” she said, breaking down in front of the media.

The family of Manish Ranjan Mishra, a former IB officer from Jhalda, also praised the retaliation. Mishra was reportedly killed after terrorists identified him by the red thread on his wrist. His relatives demanded that not only terrorists but also their enablers and sympathisers—whether inside or outside India—should be exposed and punished.

There was no detailed statement from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, except a terse post on social media reading “Jai Hind! Jai India!” Meanwhile, grief-stricken families said they hoped the nation’s military and political resolve would ensure such tragedies are never repeated.
