In Polba, a man was murdered following a violent confrontation related to an extramarital affair. Abhijit Sarkar, a resident of Navadwip, discovered that his wife, Sagarika Sarkar, had developed a relationship with his friend, Raj Barman. The affair caused significant tension between the couple, leading to a tragic incident on the night of the murder. Sagarika had recently gone to visit her mother in Polba Mahanad, where she met Raj.
Late that evening, Sagarika and Raj were sitting at a local Shiva temple when Abhijit arrived. In an altercation that followed, Abhijit attacked Raj with a knife, leaving him critically injured. Raj was rushed to Chunchura Imam Bada Hospital, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
The police were informed of the incident and quickly arrested Abhijit Sarkar. He is now facing charges of murder in connection with the death of Raj Barman. Local sources confirmed the affair as the main cause of the growing family dispute, which culminated in the deadly attack.
