Grenade blasts during mock drill, two policemen suffer injuries in MP

Two police personnel were injured on Thursday when a grenade exploded unexpectedly during a mock drill at the 25th Battalion in Bhopal. The injured officers have been identified as Head Constable Vishal Singh and Constable Santosh Kumar. Both were immediately shifted to Bansal Hospital in Chuna Bhatti, where they are receiving treatment in the emergency ward. Police officials are present at the hospital and closely monitoring their condition.

The mock drill was organized as part of ongoing security exercises following recent attacks by Pakistan. These drills aim to test and strengthen the readiness of police forces across Madhya Pradesh. The 25th Battalion was conducting this particular drill to assess the effectiveness of security arrangements and response mechanisms under heightened alert conditions.

Following the grenade explosion, an investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the accidental blast. Police authorities are reviewing the safety protocols followed during the drill. Doctors at Bansal Hospital confirmed that both officers were admitted with injuries caused by the blast, and medical teams are providing necessary care.

Madhya Pradesh Police have been conducting multiple mock drills in different cities since the rise in India-Pakistan tensions. These exercises are intended to evaluate and improve the operational preparedness of law enforcement agencies.
