Kalyani Ghoshpara station in Nadia district, West Bengal, will be officially inaugurated as an Amrit Bharat Station on May 22, 2025. The inauguration will be conducted virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Delhi. This station is the first in West Bengal to complete modernization under the nationwide Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

On May 15, 2025, Sealdah Division Railway Manager (DRM) Rajeev Saxena conducted a final inspection of the completed works at Kalyani Ghoshpara. He confirmed that all new services and facilities would be formally launched before the end of May. The inauguration will be part of a larger event where 104 stations across India will have their upgraded infrastructure inaugurated simultaneously.

The modernization work at Kalyani Ghoshpara station includes the redevelopment of the station premises and upgrading the main station building. New facilities installed include modern waiting rooms, covered sheds, toilets, seating arrangements, and improved drinking water supply. These enhancements aim to provide better passenger comfort and convenience.

The station serves a large number of daily commuters, including students and faculty of the nearby Kalyani University. The station also caters to visitors attending the local Sati Mayer Mela. These improvements are expected to benefit all regular users of the station.

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme covers modernization work at 1,275 stations nationwide, with an expected completion timeline of six months, as stated by Eastern Railway General Manager Milind K. Deouskar. Stations that have completed work are being inaugurated progressively to provide early benefits to passengers. Kalyani Ghoshpara is the first station in West Bengal to reach this milestone.
