A venomous snake was spotted inside the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) Health Department office on Monday around 4:30 PM, near the stairwell. This marks the third such incident in the last six months where a snake has entered the KMC premises. The reptile was seen with its hood raised, causing immediate panic among the employees present at the scene.
An ambulance staff member from the Health Department responded quickly by using a box to trap the snake. The employees temporarily vacated the area as a precaution. Once contained, the situation was brought under control, and normalcy resumed. No injuries were reported during the incident.
KMC officials later arrived and ensured the safe capture of the snake. The snake was removed from the premises following standard procedure. With three such sightings reported within half a year, civic staff have raised concerns over the recurring issue.
