Auto and car collision in Baruipur leaves several injured; Auto overturns in orchard

A head-on collision occurred around 6:10 AM on Monday between a passenger-loaded auto-rickshaw traveling from Gocharan to Baruipur and a four-wheeler heading from Baruipur towards Jaynagar. The accident was caused by a misunderstanding between the two drivers, resulting in a severe impact. The auto overturned into a nearby pear orchard, while the four-wheeler was left shattered on the road.

Multiple passengers from both vehicles sustained serious injuries and were admitted to Baruipur Sub-Divisional Hospital in critical condition. Locals alerted authorities, and police from Baruipur police station arrived at the scene with a crane. Both vehicles were recovered and brought to the station for further investigation.

The accident led to a traffic jam on the busy Baruipur-Kulpi Road during morning peak hours. Police officials worked to manage the flow of vehicles and clear the road. Further details on the number of injured and the exact cause are under investigation.
