Multiple drones spotted over Basirhat on India-Bangladesh border; BSF and Police launch probe

Multiple drones were observed flying over Sandelerbil village number 13, located on the India-Bangladesh border in Hingalganj, Basirhat, North 24 Parganas district. The first sighting was reported by a group of youths sitting on Katakhal Bridge who noticed several drones over the Bangladesh border area. Following this, police from Hasanabad and Hingalganj stations, along with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, were deployed to the area for assessment.

After several days without further sightings, drones were again spotted flying in the sky over Sandelerbil. This second sighting prompted the Hingalganj police and the 74th Battalion of BSF to conduct a detailed investigation. Authorities are working to identify the source and the purpose of the drone flights, particularly as the drones have been seen operating during nighttime.

Security forces have increased vigilance along this stretch of the international border. The investigation aims to determine the origin of the drones and assess any potential security implications. Residents have been informed to report any unusual aerial activity, and the police continue to monitor the situation closely.
