Ghola police recovered the hanging bodies of an elderly couple, Shekhar Samanta (65) and Monika Samanta (57), from their residence in Mahendra Nagar village of South 24 Parganas district, West Bengal. The police initially suspect suicide but are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Family members, including the deceased’s brother and nephew, stated that the couple did not have any financial problems.
