Under Operation Sindoor, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Mohammad Wakil on Saturday in Kolkata. Wakil was taken into custody from a hotel in the Topsia area, where he worked as a security guard. The NIA suspects Wakil of having connections with a Pakistani espionage network.
Mohammad Wakil is originally from Bholachand Road in Intali and has been employed for the past year with BMB Security Management Agency, which operates out of Champdani. His employment as a security guard reportedly gave him access to the premises where he was stationed.
The arrest is part of ongoing investigations conducted by the NIA under Operation Sindoor, which targets espionage activities linked to cross-border networks. Wakil is currently under interrogation as authorities work to gather more details regarding his alleged involvement.
