In a tragic turn of events, a couple from Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district lost their lives in a road accident while returning home after distributing their son's wedding invitations. The incident occurred late Sunday night on the Nagina-Dhampur road.
The victims, identified as 62-year-old Khub Singh and his wife Lali Devi, 56, were riding a motorcycle when an unidentified vehicle rammed into them. The couple was rushed to a nearby community health centre by locals, but doctors declared them dead on arrival.
Their son’s wedding was scheduled to take place on June 9, and they had been visiting relatives to deliver invitation cards. Police have registered a case and are trying to identify the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination as part of the investigation. The tragic accident has cast a shadow of grief over the upcoming family celebration.
